Azimuth thruster with nozzle is a Z drive propeller combining the steerable propeller with the steering gear, its submerged part could be 360-degree steered freely, so as to generate the thrust from all directions. This device integrates the high efficiency of steerable propeller and flexibility of 360 degree steer gear, is mainly applied in various engineering ships such as port-working tugs, seabed cable layers and floating sheer legs which have the towing requirements and a higher requirements on maneuvering performance.

The retractable azimuth thruster can change the depth of propeller, which can meet the requirements of the ship’s different draft.The azimuth thruster has retractable function.Under the retractable mechanism,the propeller drop to the lowest position during using. After starting the power, the propeller rotates to generate thrust.When it is not in use,the propeller rise to a certain height above the base line of hull to protect the azimuth thruster in case of ship grounding.The retractable mecha-nism is telescopic by the hydraulic cylinder to drive the azimuth thrust-er up and down. Moreover the guide rail is used to increase the stability of the azimuth thruster during the lifting process.The guide rail can also increase the rigidity of the lower part of the azimuth thruster when the propeller generates thrust,which is conducive to the thrust transfer of the propeller to the hull.

Deck combined propulsion is a kind of marine power propulsion which combined azimuth thruster and diesel engine. They have the advantages of compact structure,high mobility, convenient install and others. The whole set can be installed directly on the deck base. The set is hooded in the container. The vertical height is adjusted by mechanic equipments or hydraulic equipments. Therefore, ships can adapt the deeper to suit for the water depth and give full efficiency propulsive force. The ships can better satisfy the full load and no load propellers immersion depth need. The combination design with contra-rotating propellers can further shorten the diameter of propellers, save ballast water treatment cost and ballast water adjustment time.

Hydraulic azimuth thruster use hydraulic source as driving power, and directly drive the propellers by hydraulic motor. The contra-rotating propel-ler bow thruster belongs to our patent product. It realizes the smaller propeller diameter of the same power products, the larger thrust of the same diam-eter design of bow thruster. At the same time, the left and right thrust are basically coincident. There are three types:variable-frequency driven, hydraulic driven and diesel driven according to the source of power.
